The anti-slop era is officially becoming platform policy
The AI slop buttons are spreading. Snapchat is the latest platform to announce an AI content policy, following LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Substack, Reddit and others. Many of these same platforms also have their own AI tools for content creation. So this is not really a fight against AI content. It is a fight against the flood of low-quality, repetitive, automated content AI makes possible. For creators, that makes taste, originality, trust and a recognizable point of view much more valuable.

Disney+ is using TikTok creators as unpaid programming
Disney is partnering with TikTok to populate its short-form 'Verts' feed with fan-made content about Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar — offering creators 'exposure' and 'career opportunities' instead of payment. It's a clever content arbitrage: Disney gets free UGC to compete with social platforms while TikTok creators get Disney IP access and hope.
